The Power of Self!

Welcome to the blogging world of CLD Consulting! This is our first blog and going forward, our intention is to provide you with helpful tips within the realm of marketing, business and general information applicable to your daily life.

Our first topic is focused on “The Power of Self!”

Life takes many twists and turns the way in which you choose to deal with the numerous dilemmas’ coming your way will make all the difference in your moving forward.

The best thing you can do for yourself in business and otherwise is: when you are in a situation – sit back and develop a plan. In other words create and implement a strategy, but it is imperative for your strategy to have wiggle room for flexibility.

Once you become accustomed to developing a strategy for every aspect of your life you begin to trust yourself more; recognizing the power lies within you!

You have the strength to make your dreams come true. Believe in yourself and have faith and everything the universe has in store for you will become your reality.

Keep believing in yourself; even when you come across naysayers trying to dim your light. They do not know your plan or your strength – so do not give them the power to tell you what they think is “best” for you. Just hold on tight and let them say what they may, keeping in mind you know your universe is what you make it.

Sure you will experience bumps and bruises along the way simply keep believing in your power and hold on tight…the ride is interesting!

Until the next time, remember – You are where you are because it is where you need to be.

  1. This was just the right encouragement that I needed to hear!!! I have been faced with a huge dilemma in recent months and have listened to a LOT of different opinions from numerous sources concerning what I’m currently going through, which has honestly provided me with more confusion instead of certainty.
The part in the blog that states, “They do not know your plan or your strength – so do not give them the power to tell you what they think is “best” for you. Just hold on tight and let them say what they may, keeping in mind you know your universe is what you make it.”, really spoke life to me because in reality I am the one who sees all sides of my dilemma and am the only one who can make the right choices in my situation. Even though I live my life knowing that I am where I am because it is where I need to be, a little reminder can go such a long way 🙂 .Thank you so much for sharing this profound message.

    1. Jessica, people ALWAYS have an opinion about what someone else should do with their life or in a particular situation. But remember nobody wants what’s “best” for you, more than you. Follow your gut, make a plan and surge forward, don’t look back and have no regrets.

Your blog will allow the individual to focus on what is important rather than what is not healthy. Remember, you have initiated a spark of hope and faith not only in my recently challenging situation, but now in my future endeavors and desires. Keep up the good work and see you at the top!

  5. So true and so powerful – “do not give them the power” It’s totally up to us to maintain the focus, adhere to our convictions, and define our own destiny. Hence the endless pursuit of the tender balance between being over-confident and teachable. Good stuff Carrie!

  6. Carrie – You convey two important points – have confidence and belief in your own abilities, and plan your actions. I think planning ahead builds your self confidence, and enables you to take charge of the situation rather than being victimized by it.

  8. Carrie,
Very nicely said. “You are where you are because it is where you need to be”. Very true in my case. Planning is the first step and that’s where it all gets started. It is easy to loose the optimistic approach and views. But as you said, “Power lies with you”.

    1. Thanks Then. And you are right, planning is the first step – it’s the foundation of which you build upon. If you do not have a strong foundation or in this case a plan; as you try to grow or maneuver, the likelihood of it failing is greater. But if you strategize from the onset, you are greatly increasing your odds to succeed.

  9. This blog is great! I needed the words abouting keeping the good fight. My journey these past years has been rocky. I’m not were I would like to be emotional That is so true about “wiggle” room. I just recently made a committment and I knew I could not fulfill the obligation. I said yes and didn’t leave myself enough “wiggle” room. I have been feeling like such a failure.

    1. Robin, a failure you are not! Failing is when you don’t try or you give up midway. Failure is not when you put forth the effort and then it doesn’t work out as you hoped. So, I say you absolutely are the farthest thing from a failure. Keep trying and putting yourself out there; one day something is going to stick. Take that 7 letter word out of your vocabulary my friend.

  10. This is a great blog! I found the words very motivating. Carrie your thought process and writing ability is with profound clarity. I was encouraged to keep the good fight going. I have been in a ‘funk’ emotionally, financially and professionally. I was feeling like a failure before reading your blog. I had just recently made a huge mistake professionally.
I committed to perform to an agreement and knew pretty certainly that I could not fulfill the obligation of the agreement. I did not leave myself enough “wiggle” room. I should have requested a little more flexibility or just said “no”. It really cost me professionally and academically.
What I discovered from your blog is making enough “wiggle” for ourselves is paramount. I like the term “wiggle room”. It is engraved in my mind set. But, most mistakes are redeemable. My, next steps per your suggestion is to make a plan, a strategy and implement them. All is not lost because we must always keep forward on! I can stop beating up on myself now and re-group. The creator allows us many chances in life.
Thanks for the words of encouragement.

    1. It’s ok to make mistakes. Isn’t that the beauty of life? You only really learn and grow when you make a mistake. The key is to not dwell on it for too long, learn the lesson and keep it moving.
